Freedom and the Beta Release!
I’m free from Uni! For a little while at least; and I plan on finally implementing some proper AI into the boi and cleaning up a lot of the Operating System dependency shenanigans!
In the latest engine Beta build, I had reimplemented most of the classes in some form, including the rendering pipeline, resource allocation and efficiencies (no longer requiring 20% of your CPU :D ). Though I wasn’t too sure that I was going to release another version until I had accomplished adding the AI since as it’s had an engine overhaul, I’ve decided to release this as the Beta release! Since the Alpha, I’ve sat down and brainstormed plenty of cool ideas I intend to add~ so hopefully, I don’t get caught up in another code overhaul before getting the AI finished.
If you see the attachment you’ll come across the Mario animation prototype I’ve come up with: Using a simple finite state machine, a state controller and an animation class. This allows playing an animation from a state over a set amount of frames over time and it’s something I really enjoyed working on. I’m currently working on implementing this correctly onto Capy in the up coming weeks~
While I do that, I hope you take care. Drink some water, get some sleep, and we’ll see an improved Capy soon :D
